As an experiment, Phil and Michael used pliers to wrap beer bottle caps around the strings of an upright piano in the studio, which they then used to record this very early version of Fall Story. The resulting sound is inconsistently muted, intermittently resonant, and death rattling. The bottlecap piano has a solo spot on the record in “Cain's Lullaby.”
