Prelude (Unused DITS Intro)

from Death is Their Shepherd: Sketches and Relics by Physick

/

about

Near the end of the composition process for DITS, Michael had a thought that "Hi-Fruktose Noize Sserp" was too abrupt a beginning for the record, and he also wanted more circularity between Waltzing with Woland and the beginning of the record. So he asked Phil to write a prelude that would serve as a bridge between Waltzing with Woland and HFNS and set the mood for the record. Phil composed this intro on his computer, but it was never used. In the end, they both felt that it was more fitting for the record to begin rather abruptly, and the circularity was served quite well by the opening door at the end of Waltzing with Woland that is closed at the beginning of HFNS.
